Veterans United made the process seamless. I appreciated the to-do's in one place making it easy to keep track of what's needed. Also the text and email communications with the team were great.
Best experience with communication and process. Just wow

The level of commitment Veterans United has for veterans and their families is beyond impressive. We are extremely thankful and would highly recommend Veterans United Home Loans to any veteran looking to buy a home. You won’t find a better team to guide you through such an important milestone.
As a first time home buyer, I went through a rollercoaster of emotions throughout this process. Lance Hopper and his team went out of their way to make sure I knew what to expect through the process. I even had a family emergency during this process that put things on pause. The first thing that Lance said to me was take care of family and we'll still be here. Throughout this process, I did not just feel like another number with Veterans United. As a Marine, I have always had a mentality of "get things done"....but with Veterans United, they made sure I was prepared for the whole process.
I can not recommend this team enough! They went above and beyond the title of "lender." Thank you!
Being a first time home owner and know nothing she and her team were very patient and explained everything to me in a easy fashion.
United Veterans is very professional, well organized and diligent . Our experience with every single member we spoke with starting with Chris Lunn, Cooper and Walter was truly the best experience we’ve ever had. We truly appreciate his patience and commitment throughout the application process. The response time and answers to all our questions were always addressed . As a retired veteran I truly felt appreciated and special .
The entire loan process working with Veterans United was incredible and painless!
A Huge Thank you to my Loan Officer ( Megan Moore ) not only extremely professional
and friendly but very knowledgable, educating me on VA loan options that made my home purchase possible where other Mortgage companies could not.
If you have a home purchase need, please call Vets United and ask for Megan Moore.I have purchased many properties over the last 40 years and your customer service
was incredible, start to finish!!
Thank you Megan,Doug M. from WI.
The team I was working with was disorganized and had me repeat signing documents multiple times. When it came to closing week, we had to push back the closing date after being told all documents were ready and me traveling across the country with all of our belongings. I was still signing credit check paperwork on the day we were originally supposed to close. We were effectively homeless for 5 days from our original closing day and at least they compensated me for the Uhual rental. Why I would recommend, the past 2 times I worked with VU everything was smooth and went perfect, this time, it was just a horrible experience.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Carlos,
I’m really sorry this was your experience, especially knowing you’d had smooth, positive experiences with us in the past. That contrast alone makes this even more frustrating, and I understand why this felt so disappointing.
Having to re-sign documents multiple times and being told everything was ready, only to have the closing pushed back during the week you traveled across the country with your belongings, is incredibly disruptive. Being asked to sign credit check paperwork on what should have been closing day is not how this process should feel, and I’m sorry for the stress and uncertainty that caused. Being left without a place to land for several days only adds to that, and I can see how overwhelming that must have been.
While I’m glad some of the immediate expenses were addressed, that doesn’t take away from how disorganized and exhausting this experience sounds. Your feedback is important, especially given your history with Veterans United, and it’s something we take seriously.
If you’re open to it, I’d appreciate the opportunity to look into this further and make sure your concerns are fully understood. Our Client Advocate team can be reached at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and messages outside those hours are typically responded to the next business day.
Thank you for taking the time to share this and for your past trust in us, even though this experience missed the mark.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
I assumed the home buying process was a hug hassle, but going through veterans united it was very easy; especially for a first time home buyer. 1 thing that helped the most, other than my team, was the checklist and the information it provided.
Home buying can be stressful especially when you’re juggling regular life with a bunch of kids. Understanding the lending process let alone a VA Loan was a lot of work (for me). Veterans United made the process simple and my loan officer, Rachel was outstanding! Made the process simple. Clearly communicated every step of the way. And fought for our best interests when the seller was committed to their own best interests. I’d recommend Rachel and Veterans United in a heartbeat.
Everything was awesome with one minor exception. I wasn’t told that I needed my well tested until the very last minute and it delayed the closing for almost 2 weeks simply because that’s how long it took to get all the tests back.
I appreciate the team’s efforts to want to get it done quickly. However, asking for 30 days to close was not comfortable for me.It felt rushed when there were issues that needed to be worked out. This caused the closing date to be changed 30 days later. With the uncertainty as to whether the deal would go through, there was much additional stress. Happy to be on the other side!
